The Baltic Advocacy Day on November 8th in D.C. was incredibly successful! We had around 40 meetings with Congressional staff to discuss issues affecting the Baltics.

On December 20, 2019, President Trump signed N.D.A.A. into law, which increases military funds to the Baltics, impeded the building of a Russian gas pipeline, among others. Members can read more here.

Just before Christmas break, the U.S. Senate confirmed the nomination of Ambassador Gilchrist as ambassador from the U.S. to Lithuania. Members of the Baltic activist community are generally supportive of the nomination and will meet with Amb. Gilchrist before he leaves for Lithuania. The post has been empty since July, 2019.
